Illinois State Fair returns to Illinois State Fairgrounds, Springfield, IL, Aug 12 to 22, 2027. Froligo tracks ticket prices, camping, attendee feedback and travel details.

What to eat & drink

The organiser publishes 'Illinois' Best Cookbook,' a 300+ page collection of Blue Ribbon recipes from the prior year's Fair ($25 with shipping online, $20 picked up at the Fairgrounds offices), and names a standing Golden Abe's Fantastic Fair Food Contest and Craft Beer Competition.

The experience

What's special

The Illinois State Fair returns to its Springfield fairgrounds for eleven days, August 12 through 22, 2027, already named on the organiser's own homepage, though 2027 ticket pricing had not yet been published at the time of this capture. The 2026 edition, now closed, sold discounted eleven-day admission bundles, forty five dollars for an adult and thirty for a senior aged sixty and older, rather than naming a single-day gate price anywhere in static text; the organiser states outright that admission is never included in a Grandstand or Multi-Purpose Arena ticket, so a Rodeo, Truck and Tractor Pull or concert seat is always bought on top of whatever admission a guest already holds. A separate Mega or Jumbo Pass, priced from seventy to a hundred and ten dollars depending on how early it was bought, covers unlimited carnival rides across all eleven days but likewise excludes gate admission

What people love

The 2026 Multi-Purpose Arena ran a two-night Rodeo, three nights of Truck and Tractor Pulls, a Monsters of Destruction Monster Truck Show and an ISF Demolition Derby with a Power Wheels undercard, while the Village of Cultures and Reisch Pavilion kept a standing three- and five-dollar food promotion running every day of the Fair, and the Giant Slide, emblazoned with the Route 66 logo just inside the Main Gate, remains one of the fairgrounds' most recognizable fixtures

Last time around

The 2026 Illinois State Fair ran August 13-23, 2026, its Arena hosting a Rodeo, Truck and Tractor Pulls, a Monster Truck Show and a Demolition Derby across the run
