The experience
What's special
The California Mid-State Fair, calling itself The Biggest Little Fair Anywhere, runs twelve days every July at the Paso Robles Event Center in San Luis Obispo County wine country. Gate admission in 2026 was published only as a Youth rate of ten dollars, with children five and under always free and no adult figure yet released for 2027; admission already covers six free entertainment stages, livestock and horse show exhibits, demonstrations and shopping, while the Chumash Grandstand Arena's Michelob ULTRA Concert Series, the 805 Country Rodeo Finals, a Tractor Pull night and the Helm & Sons carnival midway each require a separate ticket or wristband on top. Fair hours run afternoon into midnight, four to midnight on weekdays and noon to midnight on weekends, with no entry after ten. Alongside national touring acts on the Grandstand stage, a 4-H and FFA youth rodeo and horse show runs its own card of barrel racing, breakaway roping, team roping and reined cow horse events, and the free Silo stage keeps a DJ and live-music schedule running every day of the run
