Producer Carl Kemp cancelled the 2026 edition, citing a scheduling/location dispute with the City of Long Beach over the Rainbow Lagoon Park site. Kemp told the Long Beach Press-Telegram the event won't be held in Long Beach for the foreseeable future, though he said it marks the end of "the Carl Kemp Production's Juneteenth Celebration," not of Juneteenth commemoration in Long Beach generally.
