The experience

What's special

The Maryland State Fair returns to its historic Timonium racetrack grounds for three long weekends, August 26 through September 12, 2027, a non-contiguous pattern the organiser adopted in 2022 after more than a century of running consecutive days. The 2026 edition, now closed, priced gate admission at twelve dollars online in advance (before August 27) or fifteen at the gate for an adult, with seniors and children scaled proportionally and kids five and under always free. The organiser states plainly that Fair admission covers grounds entry only, not amusement rides or carnival games, so a Deggeller Attractions ride wristband, sold in weekend-specific tiers from thirty five to forty dollars, is bought on top of the gate price. Every concert and the free Battle of the Beast Rodeo, by contrast, bundle that day's Fair admission directly into the ticket, so a Clutch or Congress The Band lawn ticket is the only purchase a concertgoer needs

What people love

The 2026 Battle of the Beast Rodeo, hosted by J Bar W Ranch and featuring twenty five professional International Bull Rider Association riders, ran free with admission on two Thursday nights, while the M&T Bank Concert Series brought Congress The Band and 98 Rock's Clutch with JD Pinkus to the Grandstand lawn, and a Walmart-presented Sensory Friendly Morning gave guests with sensory sensitivities a calmer midway, hands-on animal time and quiet zones for two hours before the Fair's usual bustle began

Last time around

The 2026 Maryland State Fair ran three weekends, August 27-30, September 3-7 and September 10-13, its 13 days continuing a tradition that traces back to the first Timonium Fair on September 9-12, 1879
