The organiser's FAQ describes full-service concession stands inside the exhibition halls (salads, wraps, sandwiches, pizza, burgers, ice cream, popcorn) alongside classic 'fair food' on the carnival midway outside, plus beer, wine and mixed drinks in a dedicated Beer Tent.

The Michigan State Fair runs Labor Day weekend, Thursday through Monday, September 3 to 7, 2026, at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi, with no 2027 dates yet set at the time of this capture. Fair Admission alone costs ten dollars and covers grounds entry only; an Ultimate Admission at forty two dollars bundles that same gate entry with unlimited carnival rides and the Full Throttle Monster Truck Shows, and costs less than buying the pieces separately on the grounds. Parking is free on a first-come, first-served basis, with shuttles roaming overflow lots during peak times. Seniors 62 and older, along with military members, teachers and uniformed Scouts, enter free on the Fair's opening Thursday, and a separate, pre-registered Senior Citizens' Program the same day offers its own air-conditioned programming in the Legacy Ballroom
What people love
A Charity Sneak Peek and Friends of the Fair Night, held the evening before the Fair opens, gives active military families, Shriners Hospitals for Children patients, and children from the Rainbow Connection and Special Olympics free unlimited Midway rides. The Ascension Main Stage runs the Fair's own State Fair Superstar singing competition to a finish each year, with 2025's winner, Izzy Joy, returning to close out the 2026 Main Stage on Labor Day itself

Each building is wheelchair-accessible from its own entrance ramps. Handicap parking is offered near all gates, directed by parking attendants. Trained service dogs are permitted to assist guests.
