What happened to Mountain Jam?
After returning in June 2025 at a new venue (Belleayre Mountain, Highmount NY) following a six-year absence, founder Gary Chetkof announced the festival would pause for 2026 to prepare for a stronger return in 2027.

How do I get to Mountain Jam?
By car
Most people drive to Mountain Jam. The nearest major airport is ALB, and from there it is a straightforward drive to the venue. Check current road and traffic conditions before you set off, and see parking below.
By train
ALB itself has no train station; the nearest Amtrak stop is Rensselaer, NY (Albany-Rensselaer, ~15-20 min from the airport), served by the Empire Service, Adirondack, Ethan Allen Express and Lake Shore Limited. From there it's the same long onward drive/taxi into the Catskills as flying into ALB directly this leg doesn't meaningfully shortcut the trip to Belleayre. closer to the venue than Rensselaer and may be a better rail option for attendees not specifically flying into ALB

A genuinely direct bus stop exists right at the venue: Adirondack Trailways runs a Route 28 corridor service (the Kingston-to-Oneonta line) with a seasonal flag stop literally named 'Belleayre Mountain (Ski Center)' at the Rte 28/Rte 6 junction in Highmount, plus additional stops at Highmount and Pine Hill a few miles down the same road. This does not connect directly to ALB airport it's a regional NY corridor bus so it suits attendees connecting from Kingston, NYC, or Oneonta more than a fly-in-via-ALB attendee, but it is a real, current transit option to the venue's front door and is recorded per Hannah's v2 rule that bus/train coverage must always be resolved explicitly

ALB to Belleayre Mountain is about 88 miles / 1h40-2h, mostly via the NYS Thruway then NY-28 west
Book / info →Taxis and rideshare such as Uber and Lyft can be limited near the venue, especially late at night or in rural areas. Agree a pickup point and time in advance and keep a backup plan.

On site parking available. Prepay via Add-on parking pass purchased with festival ticket (via the festival's own ticketing platform); third-party resale/marketplace listings (e.g. SeatGeek) also circulate parking passes. Per the festival's own 2025 policy (reported by regional press covering the Belleayre return): no vehicle parking is allowed on the campgrounds themselves festival patrons park across the street from the campground at Belleayre Mountain's own lots near the base lodge, with free on-site parking and dedicated handicap spaces near the main entrance. RV camping/parking is handled separately at 110 Cruickshank Rd, Big Indian, NY an off-site overflow location, not the main mountain lots
