National Peanut Festival

The National Peanut Festival is a ten-day agricultural fair in Dothan, Alabama, held each November to honor the region's peanut harvest. Gate admission opens up carnival rides, amusement attractions such as a petting zoo and dinosaur and grizzly encounters, agricultural and livestock exhibits, a parade, pageants and performances on the Food Court Stage. A discounted MegaPass bundles gate admission with a ride armband, while headline concerts at the amphitheater are ticketed separately, with some shows free with paid admission and reserved or preferred seating available at extra cost.

For many, the food is the main event: visitors rave about classic fair fare and peanut specialties, calling out boiled peanuts, corn dogs, elephant ears and kettle corn, with the rides, concerts and livestock shows rounding out a family fair atmosphere.
