The NH Highland Games & Festival is one of the largest and most diverse Highland Games in North America, staged over three days each September at Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln, at the start of the White Mountains' fall foliage season. Run by NHSCOT, it packs in heavy-athletics competitions, massed pipe bands, Highland dancing, sheep dog trials, live Celtic music, Scottish food and whisky, cultural seminars, kids' programming and a large vendor village

The most recent edition ran September 19, 21, 2025 at Loon Mountain Resort, delivering the usual three days of heavy-athletics competitions, massed bands, Highland dancing and sheep dog trials during peak fall-foliage season. Performers and visitors described a wonderful weekend in the White Mountains. (Two years earlier, in 2023, the Saturday programme was cancelled for high winds from a passing storm, prompting refund and communication complaints an atypical weather disruption noted here for context.)

Most people drive to NH Highland Games & Festival. The nearest major airport is MHT, and from there it is a straightforward drive to the venue. Check current road and traffic conditions before you set off, and see parking below.
By train
No direct passenger rail to the venue was found. Drive, fly in, or use a shuttle instead.
By bus & public transit
MHT is NOT itself a stop on Concord Coach Lines' route to Lincoln (confirmed directly against the route's own stop list) the route runs Boston Logan/South Station <-> Concord, NH <-> Lincoln, NH (pickup/drop-off at the 7-Eleven, 36 Main St, Lincoln). A traveler flying into MHT needs a taxi/rideshare/rental-car leg (~20 min) to Concord, NH's Concord Coach terminal first, then boards north to Lincoln. this entry adds only the venue-specific note that Loon Mountain Resort itself is a further ~8-9 miles from the Lincoln, NH Main Street stop, needing a final taxi/rideshare or the festival's own free town-to-mountain shuttle (see parking block below)

NHSCOT has no dedicated accessibility page, but the Important Details and FAQ pages answer the parking and shuttle question, which matters here because the daytime festival is shuttle based. General admission parking is off site within the town of Lincoln and everyone rides shuttle buses to Loon Mountain Resort.

Special handicapped parking is also off site in Lincoln, and the organiser says to follow the signs for that parking and ride the handicapped designated shuttle buses, which the FAQ says run directly onto the grounds. Shuttle buses run 8:00am to 6:00pm each day and do not run for evening events; parking for the separately ticketed evening events is free and on site at all locations.
Only recognised guide or service dogs are permitted, and the organiser notes shuttle transportation is required to access the venue. There is no on site camping at all, so no accessible camping. On site parking is limited to holders of pre printed parking passes and to some membership levels.
The site does not describe the ground surface or terrain at Loon Mountain Resort, and publishes nothing on accessible viewing platforms, accessible toilets, companion or carer tickets, ASL interpretation or a quiet space.
