What happened to Ozark Music Festival?
The festival ran a single time, July 19-21, 1974, drawing a crowd far beyond what organizers or the fairgrounds could manage; a state Senate committee investigated the event and recommended new crowd-control legislation, and the host city banned future rock concerts. As KCUR reported in a 50th-anniversary retrospective, "while the Missouri State Fairgrounds would go on to host other rock events, they would never again host a festival as big as the Ozark Music Festival.".
It last ran in 1974.
