The experience

What's special

The Puerto Rican & Cuban Festival (branded La Placita) is Houston's long-running celebration of Caribbean-Hispanic culture, staged since 2007 and now held at Pearland Town Center. A one-day, family-oriented event, it features live salsa and reggaeton, Puerto Rican and Cuban cuisine, lechon, mofongo, tostones, empanadillas and Cuban sandwiches, cultural performances, dancing and artisan vendors, and past editions have booked salsa headliners such as Jerry Rivera. Organizers describe it as one of Texas's biggest Caribbean parties

Getting there

How do I get to Puerto Rican & Cuban Festival Houston?

Taxi & rideshare 1
Uber / Lyft / licensed taxi~20-25 min HOU to Pearland Town Center · App-quoted; typical Houston rideshare rates for the ~15 mi HOU-to-Pearland trip (more from IAH)

Uber and Lyft pick up at HOU (Curb Zone 5) and IAH; taxis serve both. Rideshare is a convenient no-car option for the ~15 mi HOU-to-Pearland run, especially since METRO doesn't reach Pearland, but for a full day at the festival plus getting back late, factor two suburban rideshares into the cost

Car Rental 1
Rental car from William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) or George Bush Intercontinental (IAH)~20-25 min HOU to Pearland Town Center; ~45-55 min from IAH · N/A (see car_hire block)

Pearland is a Houston suburb ~15 mi south of downtown; William P. Hobby (HOU) is the closest airport at ~15 mi, with Bush Intercontinental (IAH) ~40 mi north. Houston METRO transit only usefully reaches central Houston, not the Pearland suburbs, so a rental car is the practical way to Pearland Town Center for a fly-in attendee (and easy free parking waits at the venue)

By train

No direct passenger rail to the venue was found. Use the airport transfers or shuttle options above.

By bus

No scheduled intercity bus or public transit route to the venue was found. Use the airport transfers or shuttle options above.

🅿 Parking

On site parking available. The festival is held at Pearland Town Center, an open-air shopping/lifestyle center with ample free surface and garage parking (the standard mall parking). No prepay or festival-specific paid lot applies; expect the closest rows near the festival footprint to fill during peak afternoon/evening hours on the Oct 31 event day. Confirm any festival-specific lot arrangements or closures nearer the date

🚙 Car hire

Compare car hire

A reasonable option for fly-in attendees: Pearland is a suburb that Houston METRO transit doesn't reach, so a hire car covers the ~15 mi from Hobby (HOU) and the easy free parking at Pearland Town Center, handier than stacking two suburban rideshares for a full festival day

Airbnb

Pearland and the wider south-Houston area have a solid suburban Airbnb supply of homes and apartments, useful for families or groups wanting a whole house near the venue; downtown/Midtown Houston (~15 mi north) offers a denser, more urban set if you'd rather pair the festival with the city. A single-day festival exerts light demand pressure. Link points to the Pearland Airbnb search

Hipcamp

The flat, developed suburbs south of Houston are sparse for private-land camping, but Hipcamp lists some ranch and rural sites farther out toward Brazoria County and the coast for attendees who'd rather camp than take a suburban hotel room, a car is essential given the distances.
