The experience
What's special
Realms of Adventure is a fully immersive, high-fantasy, high-magic LARP that runs weekend-long events on a privately-rented Pocono-region campground, which the organizers transform into a medieval fantasy village. The game is set in the world of Adraveth, where players explore Leathe, a newly discovered realm reached through rifts in reality, joining a growing community of adventurers in the colony of Everhallow. Founded in 2003 and now in its third ownership era, the game blends foam-weapon combat, spell-packet magic, a robust card-based crafting system, and open-ended storytelling where characters can be knights, rogues, mages, or scholars. It is open to players aged 16 and up.

Costumes & what to wear
Do I need a costume?
Realms of Adventure is a fully immersive high-fantasy LARP where players are encouraged to step into a character; the organizers state that new and seasoned players alike are welcome and offer a Getting Started resource for newcomers. A specific minimum-costume requirement was not stated in available sources
Weapons policy
Combat uses foam boffer weapons and LARP-safe latex weapons (swords, daggers, axes, warhammers are common); magic is cast with thrown cloth-and-birdseed spell packets. Foam-dart crossbows (e.g., Nerf) and foam-tipped arrows may be permitted if they pass a safety check and are modified to suit the fantasy setting. All LARP weapons are subject to a safety check at check-in and may fail if the striking surface is too hard, the tip is too sharp, or the item is damaged. No real weapons of any kind (live steel, target-tip arrows, etc.) are permitted on the grounds
Joining in
Live Action Role-Playing where participants become their character rather than watch. There is no script; players and costumed cast create the story as it unfolds, resolving combat with safe foam weapons and casting magic with thrown spell packets. A crafting system lets players make in-game items (represented by cards), and characters can pursue combat, crafting, healing, lore, or political intrigue
Getting there
Nearest airport AVP.
How do I get to Realms of Adventure?
Taxi & rideshare 1
From AVP the venue is roughly a 40-mile, 50-55 minute drive east into the Poconos toward Hawley. Rideshare pickup at AVP is the designated TNC zone outside baggage claim. There is no transit, rail, or festival shuttle out to Hawley, so a rideshare would cover the whole trip, but for a weekend camping event with gear, most fly-in players rent a car, and driver supply thins out this far into the Poconos, so book a return ride ahead
Book / info →By train
No direct passenger rail to the venue was found. Use the airport transfers or shuttle options above.
By bus
No scheduled intercity bus or public transit route to the venue was found. Use the airport transfers or shuttle options above.
🅿 Parking
On site parking available. Cost On-site parking at Watonka Outdoor Facilities (no separate parking charge documented). Prepay via None, on-site parking at the campground, no prepay system noted. The event takes over a privately-rented campground for the weekend, with players camping on site for the duration; on-site parking is available. Specific parking layout and any capacity limits were not documented this pass
🚙 Car hire
Compare car hire at AVP
The primary option for fly-in attendees: a weekend camping LARP on a private Pocono campground ~40 miles from AVP with no transit or shuttle to the site, and players haul tents and gear. A rental car (all six major brands operate on-airport at AVP) covers the trip
