The experience

What's special

Sea Mar Fiestas Patrias is a free, family-friendly celebration of Latino heritage held over two days each September at Seattle Center as part of the Festal cultural-festival series. Presented by Sea Mar Community Health Centers, it commemorates the September independence days of Latin American nations through live music, traditional folk dance, art, and authentic Latin American food. Alongside the performances, the event runs a community health fair with free screenings, Zumba, children's craft activities, and a parade, reflecting its roots as a community-health and cultural-pride gathering

Last time around (2025)

The 2025 edition was held September 13-14 at Seattle Center's Armory Food & Event Hall and Fisher Pavilion as part of the Festal series, free and open to the public. Coverage framed it as a celebration of history and of new generations of Latinos who now call the United States home, pairing cultural performances with the community health fair

Getting there

How do I get to Sea Mar Fiestas Patrias?

By car

Most people drive to Sea Mar Fiestas Patrias. Check current road and traffic conditions before you set off, and see parking below.

By train

No direct passenger rail to the venue was found. Drive, fly in, or use a shuttle instead.

By bus & public transit
Sound Transit Link Light Rail (1 Line) to Westlake + Seattle Center Monorail / short walk~38 min SEA to Westlake, then ~2 min Monorail to Seattle Center Β· Link $3.00 adult one-way; Seattle Center Monorail ~$3.50 adult one-way (separate fare)

From Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA), take the Link 1 Line from SeaTac/Airport Station to Westlake Station in downtown Seattle (a complimentary Train-to-Plane shuttle and covered walkway connect the terminal to the Link station). At Westlake, the Seattle Center Monorail runs directly to Seattle Center (a 2-minute ride to the Armory, steps from the festival), or it's a ~15-20 min walk / short bus hop. A clean, mostly rail door-to-door option to a venue with no on-site parking guarantee

Taxi & rideshare
Uber, Lyft, licensed taxi~25-35 min to Seattle Center (traffic-dependent) Β· App-quoted / metered; ~14 mi airport-to-Seattle-Center trip

App-based rideshare pickup at SEA is consolidated to the 'Ride App Pick-Up' area on the 3rd floor of the parking garage (follow signage from baggage claim across the skybridge); licensed taxis have a separate curbside queue. A direct ride to Seattle Center/Uptown avoids the Link+Monorail transfers, useful with luggage or a group

Book / info β†’

Taxis and rideshare such as Uber and Lyft can be limited near the venue, especially late at night or in rural areas. Agree a pickup point and time in advance and keep a backup plan.

πŸ…Ώ Parking

On site parking available. Prepay via Seattle Center garages (Mercer Street Garage, 5th Ave N Garage) prepay optional via the Seattle Center parking page/third-party apps. Seattle Center has its own parking garages the Mercer Street Garage (5th Ave N & Mercer, connected by skybridge) and the 5th Ave N Garage plus surrounding private lots in the Uptown/Lower Queen Anne blocks. Rates vary by demand (~$15-30), and prepay is optional. Because this is a free festival at a transit-rich campus, Link + Monorail or a short walk from an Uptown hotel is often easier than driving. The festival's official listing does not publish separate parking guidance beyond Seattle Center's standard facilities

πŸš™ Car hire

Compare car hire

Low priority for the festival itself a free Seattle Center event with a Link+Monorail airport connection, walkable Uptown hotels and on-campus garages. A rental is relevant mainly for attendees pairing the weekend with wider Washington travel (Cascades, Olympic Peninsula, wine country)

Accessibility & comfort

What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.

Disability access

The festival organiser Sea Mar publishes no accessibility information of its own, but the event is held at Seattle Center in collaboration with Seattle Center Festal, and the venue publishes a full accessibility page; the detail below is Seattle Center venue policy, not a festival specific policy.

Read the full notes

Seattle Center states it complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act and asks guests needing special services or auxiliary aids to contact customer service ten business days in advance on (206) 684-7200. Listed campus services include an ADA Coordinator, Guest Services at events, Assistive Listening Devices, large print and Braille materials, American Sign Language interpreters, Washington Relay Service on 7-1-1 for hearing impaired guests, and wheelchair charging stations, with two charging locations in the Armory on the 3rd floor west side and the 2nd floor west side of the Atrium.

Accessible parking sits at several points around the campus periphery and every Seattle Center garage has designated accessible spots: the Mercer Parking Garage has 67 accessible stalls on levels B and C next to the sky bridge to McCaw Hall but they are not van accessible due to height restrictions; the 5th Ave N Garage has 24 accessible stalls including eight van accessible; the Theatre Commons ADA Parking Lot between Seattle Repertory Theater and Cornish Playhouse has six accessible stalls including three van accessible plus an accessible pick up and drop off area; and the School District Parking Lot at 5th Avenue North near the Harrison St entry has six spaces, one accessible and five van accessible.

A further drop off area on Mercer St between Cornish Playhouse and Phelps Center accommodates patrons with disabilities. An ADA compliant adult changing room and nursing room is on the second floor of the Armory along the north corridor, with the key from Customer Service at the north end of the Food & Event Hall.

Festival programming is spread across the Armory main level and loft, Fisher Pavilion and the Fisher Pavilion rooftop. Access questions for the venue go to (206) 684-7200 or [email protected]. The festival itself is free and public and publishes no companion or carer ticket policy, no terrain description and no accessible toilet or viewing detail

ASL

American Sign Language interpreters are listed among the services available on the Seattle Center campus, which is the venue rather than the festival organiser. Requests for special services and auxiliary aids should reach Seattle Center customer service ten business days in advance on (206) 684-7200, or by email to [email protected].

Assistive Listening Devices are also listed, and hearing impaired guests are pointed to Washington Relay Service on 7-1-1. The festival organiser does not publish any ASL schedule of its own

Confirm your specific needs with the organiser's access team before you travel.
