The experience
What's special
Tattoos Mischief & Mayhem is Pea Patch Collective's touring tattoo expo format, run as a weekend of live tattooing, artist and vendor booths, tattoo awards, music, live acts, food and a kids activity center. The organiser describes itself as a family oriented tattoo expo host built around faith and country values for both artists and attendees, and runs the same format across several Texas and regional stops rather than operating a single fixed venue. At other cities on its circuit, such as Euless, the Longview-style weekend has run to around 120 booths of artists and vendors, with daily giveaways for the public and for exhibiting artists, contests and awards, and entertainment through the day and evening. The organiser's current events calendar does not carry a Longview date, venue or ticket detail at the moment, so attendees should check the organiser's own events page and social channels closer to the next announced edition for the specific hall, hours and artist roster. The broader Mischief & Mayhem format gives a reasonable sense of what to expect once a Longview date is confirmed
What happens on the floor
The core format: artists take a booth for the weekend and work on the open floor, with the public walking through.
Pieces go on in the open, start to finish. You can watch, and talk to artists between clients.
Finished and same-day work is judged on stage in named categories, usually late in the day.
Machines, inks, aftercare, art and clothing. Aimed at artists, but open to anyone through the door.
Stage acts between judging: sideshow, suspension and burlesque are common. Worth knowing before you sit down with a child.
Who is tattooing
No artist roster has been published for this edition, so there is no way to pick an artist in advance from the official pages.
