aja monet is an American surrealist blues poet, musician, and cultural worker of Cuban and Jamaican heritage, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. In 2023 she released the album When the Poems Do What They Do, which earned a 2024 Grammy nomination for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album.
