Danny Elfman is an American composer, singer, and songwriter born in Los Angeles in 1953, best known as a film composer and as the former lead vocalist and songwriter of the new wave band Oingo Boingo. He has scored over 100 films, frequently collaborating with director Tim Burton on works such as Batman and The Nightmare Before Christmas, and has won a Grammy and multiple Emmy Awards.
