Empire of the Sun are an Australian electronic pop duo formed in 2007 by Luke Steele, previously of the band The Sleepy Jackson, and Nick Littlemore of the group Pnau. Their 2008 debut album Walking on a Dream was a multi-platinum success in Australia and produced international singles including the title track and 'We Are the People.' The duo are known for elaborate costumed stage shows accompanying their electropop and synth-pop sound.
