Godsmack is an American rock band formed in Lawrence, Massachusetts, in 1995. Known for a hard-edged alternative metal sound, the group released its multi-platinum self-titled debut in 1998 and went on to score consecutive number-one Billboard 200 albums with Faceless (2003), IV (2006) and The Oracle (2010).
