The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is a New York-based big band founded in 1988 as an outgrowth of Jazz at Lincoln Center's Classical Jazz concert series. Since 1991 it has been led by trumpeter and artistic director Wynton Marsalis, and consists of roughly 15 permanent musicians. The orchestra tours internationally performing a repertoire that ranges from historic and commissioned works to the music of Duke Ellington.
