Bio

Jazzmeia Horn is an American jazz vocalist born in 1991 in Dallas, Texas, into a spiritually minded, musical family, first introduced to singing by her gospel-pianist grandmother. She graduated from Dallas's Booker T. Washington High School and studied at The New School in New York, then won the 2013 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and the 2015 Thelonious Monk Institute competition. Her debut album A Social Call (2017) was Grammy-nominated, and she has since led a big band, founded Empress Legacy Records, and earned multiple further Grammy nominations
