From Union Station, walk to the nearby Little Tokyo/Arts District Station and take the Metro A Line toward Long Beach to Vernon Station, then walk ~0.7 mi east to Central Ave. Mostly useful if you are staying downtown anyway

All app-rideshare and taxi pickups at LAX use the consolidated LAX-it lot next to Terminal 1 -- walk from T1 or ride the free green LAX-it shuttle that loops every terminal (every ~5 min at peak).
