Kurt Vile is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, known for his laid-back psychedelic indie rock. A co-founder of The War on Drugs, he left the band in 2008 to focus on a solo career and gained wider acclaim with the 2013 album Wakin on a Pretty Daze, backed by his band The Violators.
