Bio
McKinley James is a young guitarist, singer and songwriter from upstate New York (Rochester) who relocated with his family to Nashville, Tennessee in 2017. The son of JD McPherson drummer Jason Smay, he fuses Stax and Motown soul with the blues of Magic Sam and Otis Rush. His recordings include 2021's Still Standing By, produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, and 2024's Working Class Blues
