Bio
New Order are an English band formed in Manchester in 1980 by Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris following the disbanding of Joy Division after Ian Curtis's death, with keyboardist Gillian Gilbert joining soon after. Fusing post-punk with electronic dance music, they became pioneers of alternative dance and the flagship act of Factory Records. Their 1983 single 'Blue Monday' became the best-selling 12-inch single of all time
