Bio

Death Cult was a British post-punk band formed in April 1983 by vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, with a rhythm section of Jamie Stewart and Ray Mondo. The name evolved from Astbury's earlier band Southern Death Cult, and the group released two eponymous EPs and singles that bridged raw punk with a driving, psychedelia-tinged rock. In January 1984 they shortened their name to The Cult and released the album Dreamtime
