Bio
Orchestra Baobab is a Senegalese band formed in 1970 as the house band of the Baobab Club in Dakar. Fusing Afro-Cuban rhythms with Senegalese griot traditions, Portuguese-Creole and West African styles, they became one of the dominant African bands of the 1970s. After disbanding in 1987, they reunited in 2001 and their World Circuit reissues and new albums, including a revived Pirate's Choice, won them a global audience
