Bio

Robert Randolph (born August 8, 1977, in Irvington, New Jersey) is an American pedal steel guitarist and vocalist who leads Robert Randolph and the Family Band. He learned the instrument in the African American "Sacred Steel" tradition of the House of God Church, a Pentecostal denomination, before moving into a secular blend of funk, soul, gospel and rock. He came to wider attention with the 2002 live album Live at the Wetlands.
