Sam Bush is an American mandolinist, fiddler and singer born April 13, 1952, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, widely known as the 'Father of Newgrass' for fusing bluegrass with rock and jam-band influences. As founder of the New Grass Revival, he helped shape progressive bluegrass and was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.
