Tate McRae is a Canadian pop singer and songwriter born in Calgary, Alberta in 2003, who first gained public attention as a finalist on the TV competition So You Think You Can Dance before pivoting into a music career. She signed with RCA Records in 2019, and her single "You Broke Me First" became a breakout hit; her 2025 album So Close to What topped the US Billboard 200.
