Bio

Willie Clayton is a soul-blues singer born March 29, 1955 in Indianola, Mississippi, who began singing in church and cut his first single with the R&B group the Soul Blenders in 1969. After moving to Chicago in 1971 he was signed to Willie Mitchell's Pawn/Hi imprint in 1974, and his rich, passionate delivery fusing blues intensity with vintage soul made him a fixture of the chitlin-circuit soul-blues world. He has recorded more than two dozen albums since the 1980s, with his 2000s work charting on the Billboard blues chart
