What's special
901 Fest is Railgarten's multi-day, Memphis-centric music weekend, staged over Labor Day weekend to coincide with the city's September 1 "901 Day" civic celebration. Since launching in 2021, it has paired live sets from local and regional Memphis musicians spanning gospel, zydeco, soul, brass and hip-hop influences with specialty cocktails from a partnering local distillery and a weekend market of goods from area artists. Organizers built the festival specifically to spotlight homegrown Memphis talent, and the event shifts from a family-friendly daytime atmosphere to an adults-oriented evening scene as each day goes on
Last time around (2024)
The most recent staged edition ran August 30 to September 1, 2024, in its usual Labor Day weekend slot alongside Memphis's citywide 901 Day celebration. The three-day bill leaned toward Memphis and regional acts, including John Nemeth, Terrance Simien, the Showboats, Lucky 7, Dead Soldiers, the Wilkins Sisters, Talibah Safiya and Marcella Simien, plus a late-set DJ each night. No independent attendee account of how the 2024 weekend played out turned up in the sweep; Railgarten, the festival's sole venue, closed for renovations that December and never reopened, so 2024 stands as the festival's last confirmed staging pending any relaunch at a new site

Cooper-Young itself is a dense, mostly on-street-parking neighborhood with only a handful of small paid lots nearby (do not confuse with the Premium Parking lot on 'Cooper Street' downtown near Beale St/FedExForum that is a different Cooper Street, several miles away). any onsite-parking arrangement described here is HISTORICAL, from when Railgarten actively ran the venue and this festival, and cannot be verified as still available for a 2026 edition
