Ananda Yoga Festival comes to White Park, Riverside, CA, Expected May. Froligo tracks current ticket prices, attendee feedback and travel details.
What it stands for
The festival describes itself as a wellness celebration for everyBODY, welcoming people of all faiths, cultures, ages, genders and physical abilities, and is guided by a stated belief that health and wellness resources should be accessible to all, which is why a portion of it is free. It frames itself as a living circle of belonging where individuals come together in friendship and love, and puts collective care at the centre: its own phrasing is that well being is something we nurture together. It is entirely powered by volunteers, who the festival calls essential rather than helpful, and it is designed to minimise waste at source and maximise recycling and composting. Environmental appreciation is programmed rather than incidental, with practice held outside on grass under shade trees as a deliberate choice
The experience
What's special
A one day outdoor festival in a fenced five acre city park in downtown Riverside, built so that a large part of it costs nothing: the Community Village is open to anyone, ticket or no ticket, and mixes wellness traders with free health education from a Black nurses association, a refugee support institute and a Blue Zones project. The ticketed side runs across eight named areas of the park, each with its own character, from an all abilities seated and standing flow to Kundalini and primal dance fusion, Yin, acro for two and a rest programme held under a giant magnolia tree. The day opens with a cacao ceremony at 8:30am, runs live music and kirtan on the gazebo from 10am, and closes with a yoga school graduation on the main stage

The practice
all bodies and abilities. The festival describes itself as a wellness celebration for everyBODY, welcoming people of all faiths, cultures, ages, genders and physical abilities, and says the event welcomes all bodies and abilities. It programmes an explicitly accessible option oriented seated and standing flow under the title All-Abilities Yoga alongside more demanding sessions such as group gymnastics inspired yoga and partner acro yoga.
