Joshua Tree Yoga Festival returns to Joshua Tree, CA, Apr 23 to 25, 2027. Froligo tracks ticket prices, camping, attendee feedback and travel details.

What it stands for

The festival's own framing is that the land is medicine. It describes the Joshua Tree Music Festival grounds as a gathering place infused with decades of music, movement and connection, a place where strangers become family and where music and movement become medicine, and says it is honored to call that venue home. The programme is pitched at everyone from a new yogi to a seasoned practitioner, with community, intimacy and family friendliness stated as the priorities, and the site is billed as a clean energy festival

The experience

What's special

A three day camping yoga festival on the Joshua Tree Music Festival's own grounds, with early arrival and a welcome party the night before. The days run from sunrise meditation to candlelit Yin and on into live music, with more than 40 facilitators advertised across yoga, breathwork, sound healing, bhakti and kirtan, dance, bodywork and doctors' talks. Alongside the classes the organizer programmes a Healing Shala, a Sacred Lounge, a Dharma Den, art, family programming, and food and artisan vendors. Nearly everyone stays on site: tent and car camping, RVs and a limited run of glamping campers are all sold separately from the festival pass

The practice

Who it's for

all levels. The organizer says that from a new yogi to a seasoned practitioner there is something for everyone, and one facilitator's copy states that all are welcome with no experience needed. In practice the range is wide: sunrise meditation, Yin, restorative, sound and breathwork sit alongside Ashtanga, Primal Flow, inversions and dance, all on a desert camping site. No per-class level labels are published

Hatha

Slower, foundational postures held breath by breath. The classic starting point.

Vinyasa

Flowing sequences that link breath to movement. Expect to move and sweat.

Ashtanga

A set sequence practiced with breath, gaze and posture working together. Disciplined and physical.

fusion
primal flow
Yin

Long, passive floor holds that reach deep tissue. Slow, quiet and meditative.

restorative

Fully supported poses with props, built for rest and recovery rather than effort.

Kundalini

Breathwork, chanting and repeated movements aimed at energy and focus more than a workout.

Surf Yoga
Bikram (teacher background)
Acroyoga

Partner work blending yoga and acrobatics. Expect to fly, base and spot.

Accessibility & comfort

What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.

Disability accessJoshua Tree Yoga Festival publishes nothing about accessibility on its own site. The Grounds page, which was the most likely place for terrain detail, is atmospheric copy only: it describes the site as "a breathing gathering place", offers tent, car, RV and rented camper camping, and mentions shaded lounges and curated wellness spaces, but gives no surface, gradient, distance, step free or toilet information at all. There is no accessibility, ADA or FAQ page (all 404) and the ticket store lists only that "Bathrooms located in portables" and "Showers located in shower trailer with hot water", with no accessible unit mentioned. Portable toilets and a shower trailer are the only sanitation published, and neither is stated to be accessible. The real access information for this ground is published by a different event: Joshua Tree Music Festival, which the yoga festival names as the site's home and which uses the same Joshua Tree Lake Campground at 2601 Sunfair Road. Joshua Tree Music Festival's Festival and Campground Info page carries an ACCESSIBILITY section stating "There are accessible parking spaces reserved in both day parking lot and car camping in the campground that are closest to festival entrance gates." and, under accessible camping, asking people to contact them in advance to arrange accessible camping, Carer's passes and further accessibility needs. The same page publishes terrain that matters here: "The festival site is an easy drive and is all paved until you reach the parking lot.", meaning the paving stops at the car park and everything beyond it is unpaved; the same page refers to "broken glass + bare feet in the sand", confirming sand underfoot. It also states that gear cannot be driven in and dropped off, with campers required to walk their gear from day parking into the campground, and that camping is communal and unreserved at roughly twelve feet by twelve feet per pitch. Its service animal policy admits trained service dogs but explicitly excludes emotional support, therapy and companion animals. All of that is Joshua Tree Music Festival's statement about the shared site, not a Joshua Tree Yoga Festival statement, and the yoga festival has not adopted or repeated any of it. A disabled attendee should not assume the yoga festival honours the music festival's accessible parking allocation, carer passes or accessible camping arrangements, and must confirm directly with the yoga festival organiser before booking
Quiet & supportThe organiser names a Healing Shala, a Sacred Lounge and a Dharma Den among the festival's features, in the scrolling banner on the home page which reads in part "BODY WORK • HEALING SHALA • SACRED LOUNGE • DHARMA DEN • ART". That is the only published mention of any of the three; the festival publishes no description of what they are, where they sit, whether they are step free, or whether any of them is intended as a quiet or low sensory retreat. Do not read them as a sensory refuge on the strength of the names. The only quiet related provision published for the shared site is by Joshua Tree Music Festival, which designates the family camping area in the north west corner of the campground as a quiet zone after dark and sets aside several campground locations for people who want to camp away from generators
Shade & heatThe organizer describes shaded lounges, curated wellness spaces and handcrafted details across an authentic high desert festival site
AgesFamily friendly. A children's weekend pass covers ages 5 to 12
ChildrenThe children's early bird weekend pass gives unlimited access to family friendly events and activities across the weekend plus a welcome pack with schedule and event map

What to bring

A full weekend of practice is easier with your own kit. What earns its place in the bag:

Four rolled cotton yoga mats in pink, yellow, blue and blackYour own mat

Rentals sell out and shared mats are thin. Bring a grippy, cushioned mat you trust for a full weekend of practice.

Recovery and comfort. This is three nights of high desert camping wrapped around a full movement programme that runs from sunrise meditation to candlelit Yin, including Ashtanga, Primal Flow, Surf Yoga, contact dance and Acroyoga-influenced partner work. Sleeping on desert ground in April means warm days and cold nights, so a proper sleeping pad, warm layers and a bedding setup matter as much as a mat. Guests in glamping campers must bring their own bedding. Water is the recurring theme in the organizer's own copy: the campers are dry units, well water is available for refills, and refillable bottles are recommended. Showers are in a hot water trailer and bathrooms are portables, so wipes and a towel are worth packing. For a body doing several classes a day, a bolster or cushion for long seated sessions, a strap, and something for post-practice self-massage will do more than any single piece of gear
