Alternative NYC rail routing: Metro-North's Hudson Line from Grand Central Terminal to Poughkeepsie (the line's northern terminus), then a taxi ~26 mi / 40 min north to Bard. Cheaper than Amtrak but the last-mile taxi is longer and pricier than from Rhinecliff. Fisher Center quotes 'approximately two hours (80 minutes by train and 40 minutes by taxi).'

Documented on the Fisher Center transportation page: the LOOP C bus runs from Poughkeepsie Station up through Dutchess County to Bard inbound stop #81 (Kline Bus Stop North), outbound stop #97 (Kline Bus Stop South). It is the only fixed-route public bus reaching campus; pay on board, infrequent service, best for budget travelers already at Poughkeepsie Station rather than direct airport arrivals. For SELECT performances, the Fisher Center runs an official chartered coach from Manhattan directly to the venue and back. Per the venue: 'The meeting point for coach pick-up and drop-off is at Lincoln Center, Amsterdam Avenue, between 64th & 65th Streets.' This is a genuine venue-operated shuttle (not from an airport, but the only official door-to-venue transit for out-of-towners) book through the Box Office at 845-758-7900. POU (Hudson Valley Regional Airport, Wappinger) is the geographically nearest airport but is general-aviation / charter only it has NO scheduled commercial airline service (charter via Tradewind Aviation / FlightLevel only).
