Getting there
How do I get to Baychata Festival?
By car
Most people drive to Baychata Festival. Check current road and traffic conditions before you set off, and see parking below.
By train
No direct passenger rail to the venue was found. Drive, fly in, or use a shuttle instead.
By bus & public transit
For non-hotel-guests, VTA's free Route 60 Airport Flyer connects SJC to the VTA light-rail network and Santa Clara Caltrain. The DoubleTree is right by the airport, so the free hotel shuttle is the simpler choice for guests; Route 60 is more useful for reaching downtown San Jose or elsewhere in the Bay Area during the congress
Book / info →Festival shuttle
The festival's host hotel and venue, the DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose (2050 Gateway Place), sits less than half a mile from San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC) and runs a free guest shuttle to and from the airport, roughly hourly from about 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM. For airport pickup, call the hotel from baggage claim. Because the hotel IS the congress venue, this shuttle drops you effectively at the event, no onward transport needed
Book / info →Taxi & rideshare
SJC uses designated Ground Transportation Island stops for rideshare and taxi (not open curbside). For the DoubleTree, the free hotel shuttle is faster and cheaper than a rideshare given the sub-half-mile distance, but rideshare is the fallback outside shuttle hours (roughly after 11 PM / before 5 AM)
Book / info →Taxis and rideshare such as Uber and Lyft can be limited near the venue, especially late at night or in rural areas. Agree a pickup point and time in advance and keep a backup plan.
🅿 Parking
On site parking available. Parking is at the venue hotel itself, the DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose offers on-site uncovered self-parking (~$32/day, in/out privileges). No separate festival parking arrangement applies since the congress runs inside the hotel. Fly-in attendees using the free airport shuttle can skip parking entirely
🚙 Car hire
Compare car hire
Largely unnecessary for this congress, the venue is the airport hotel, reachable by a free shuttle, and the whole event happens indoors on-site. A hire car is only worth it for attendees planning to explore the wider Bay Area between social/dance sessions

San Jose has a deep short-term-rental market, though for a dance congress most attendees prefer to stay in the host hotel to be steps from the ballrooms and late-night socials. Airbnb makes sense mainly for groups splitting a larger unit or wanting a kitchen; expect to rideshare or take VTA light rail back to the venue after late sessions. Link points to the San Jose Airbnb search
Search Airbnb →Hipcamp options around San Jose sit out in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Diablo Range foothills, and coastal areas well outside the city, impractical for a hotel-based dance congress where you want to be steps from the ballroom late at night. Listed only for completeness. Link points to the California statewide Hipcamp directory; filter to the San Jose / South Bay area

What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.
Checked baychatafestival.com homepage, /faq, /about-festival and /hotel on 3 Sep 2026. No accessibility page or statement, no wheelchair, ADA, companion ticket, ASL or sensory information, and no terrain description. The FAQ only covers parking cost at the host hotel and an airport shuttle. Event is indoors at the DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose, so venue accessibility would need to be confirmed with the hotel. Organiser contact for access questions is [email protected], and the site also lists Instagram and a WhatsApp group as contact routes
Confirm your specific needs with the organiser's access team before you travel.
