What's special
Ullr Fest is Breckenridge's 63-year-old winter party in honor of Ullr, the Norse god of snow, with locals and visitors in Viking helmets praying for a powder-filled season. The town crowns a local Ullr King and Queen, then hundreds line up on Main Street for the Breckenridge Distillery Shotski, an unofficial world-record attempt for the longest shared shot ski, before the Ullr Parade with prizes for the most creative floats and a bonfire of old Christmas trees. The 2026 festival runs December 17 to 19, alongside the free Rockstar Energy Open snowboard contest and concert.
How it works
Almost everything is free: the crowning at 3 PM, the parade at 4 PM and the bonfire from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, December 17, and the Rockstar Energy Open concert on Blue River Plaza on Saturday. The Shotski costs $20, is limited to people 21 and over, needs registration from 10 AM on December 1, and raises money for the Breckenridge Mountain Rotary; organizers want 1,444 people to beat Park City's record. Parade floats must register by 5 PM on December 10. Times depend on the weather, and the full Friday and Saturday schedule is still to come.
