What's special
Colossalcon Prime is the flagship event of the five-location Colossalcon family, held every June at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, an indoor water-park resort in Sandusky, Ohio. The organizer traces its roots to 2002 as the Cleveland Colossal Convention in Strongsville, Ohio. The 2027 edition runs June 2 through 6, with Wednesday reserved for early badge pickup and Thursday through Sunday as the sold convention days
What people love
The waterpark is the convention's defining feature: cosplay is explicitly welcome poolside (with its own waterpark-specific prop and swimwear rules), and after-hours events like Rave in the Waves turn the wave pool into a DJ-driven night party. On dry land, the Masquerade and Fashion Show pairs a judged skit performance with a craftsmanship-contestant runway walk, backed by a detailed, Help-and-Safety-reviewed prop policy that still allows blunted live-steel cosplay weapons and foam-tipped arrows. Only two individual guests (voice actors Dan Green and Eric Stuart, both also musicians and Yu-Gi-Oh! cast mates) were announced as of this capture, alongside four Night Swim DJs

Colossalcon adheres to the ADA and state/federal disability law but notes it is not responsible for the Kalahari's own venue-specific accessibility policies (linked separately on Kalahari's own site). Staff offer reserved wheelchair/scooter/mobility-aid seating, chair removal for extra space, front-row seating for visual/hearing disabilities (or back-row for sensory concerns), stage ramps at main events, and a designated accessibility waiting area so one companion can hold a place while the rest of a group waits in the regular line; accommodations do not automatically grant front-of-line privileges.

A designated Quiet Room is provided in the convention center for overwhelmed or overstimulated guests; it is deliberately left off the convention map to keep it from becoming a hangout, and attendees must ask Help & Safety for access.
The Kalahari also has its own quiet room in the Resort North Wing, directly across from the Fitness Center
