Countdown NYE

The best transit option for this festival and officially promoted by both Insomniac and Metrolink: San Bernardino-Downtown station sits about a mile north of the NOS Events Center, and Metrolink's dedicated Countdown NYE page sells a special $15 Insomniac Events round-trip ticket (Metrolink Mobile App) valid Dec 31 through Jan 1. Riders take any regularly scheduled San Bernardino Line train in, and a special late-night train departs San Bernardino-Downtown at 3:00 AM on Jan 1 with stops at Rancho Cucamonga, Montclair, Claremont, Covina, Cal State L.A. and L.A. Union Station, a genuine after-close ride home toward LA on New Year's morning, when rideshare surge is at its worst. For fly-in attendees: LAX and BUR arrivals connect via LA Union Station (LAX FlyAway bus, or Burbank Airport-North station on this same line); ONT arrivals reach the line via the free ONT Connect shuttle to Rancho Cucamonga station (see public-transit entry). VINTAGE WARNING: the $15 fare, on-sale date (Dec 1) and 3:00 AM departure are from the most recent NOS edition of Countdown ('departs . . at 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1' = Jan 1, 2025); the partnership has run repeatedly for Insomniac's NOS events, but Dec 2026 service should be re-confirmed when Metrolink republishes the page

Amtrak's once-daily Southwest Chief (Chicago-Kansas City-Albuquerque-Los Angeles) stops at the historic San Bernardino Santa Fe Depot, 1170 W 3rd St, roughly 2.5 mi from the venue. From the depot, Metrolink continues one stop to San Bernardino-Downtown (~1 mi from the venue), or it's a short rideshare hop. Only realistic for long-distance rail arrivals given the once-a-day schedule; LA-area attendees should use Metrolink instead

Both major intercity coach operators serve San Bernardino directly: FlixBus stops at the San Bernardino Santa Fe Depot (1170 W 3rd St) and the downtown San Bernardino Transit Center (559 W Rialto Ave, ~1 mi from the venue); Greyhound's San Bernardino service operates from the same stops. Cheap option from LA, San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix; from either stop it's a short rideshare or an Omnitrans local hop to the gate. Note that coaches will not be running at the 2 AM close, this is an arrival option, pair it with the Metrolink special or a hotel for the night itself

Two supporting public-transit pieces around the Metrolink spine: (1) From ONT itself, Omnitrans' ONT Connect (Route 380) runs a free-with-Metrolink-ticket nonstop shuttle between Ontario airport's terminals and Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink station, meeting every San Bernardino Line train, 7 days a week, so a fly-in Headliner can do ONT > Cucamonga Station > San Bernardino-Downtown entirely on the $15 Insomniac Metrolink ticket. (2) Locally, Omnitrans buses (including the sbX Green Line BRT on E Street) converge on the San Bernardino Transit Center, ~1 mi from the venue, for last-mile hops. Note the timing catch: the San Bernardino Line's regular service is sparse late at night, the 3:00 AM special train is the only planned after-close departure, and ONT Connect only meets trains, so this route works far better inbound (afternoon of Dec 31) than as a 2 AM airport run

Insomniac has run an official paid shuttle program for Countdown at NOS: city shuttles from Downtown LA/USC, Orange County, San Fernando Valley and Riverside (arriving for 3:30 PM doors, departing 30 min after close at ~2:30 AM), plus a hotel shuttle from the Best Western Ontario Airport, minutes from ONT, the nearest airport, running continuously 3:30 PM to 2:30 AM. Passes are sold only through Front Gate Tickets, and only official Countdown shuttles get venue access. IMPORTANT: the Dec 2026 edition's shuttle page has not been published yet (the 2025-era shuttles page now 404s, and the current countdownnye.com/travel/ hub lists only Parking, Hotels and Airports), and the intervening Dec 2025 edition ran at the LA Convention Center rather than NOS, so hub locations and the hotel-shuttle pickup are the recurring NOS-edition pattern, not a live 2026 listing. The Front Gate storefront already references shuttle passes for the 2026 event; check it closer to the date

Uber and Lyft operate normally across the San Bernardino/Ontario metro and at ONT's terminals, a dense urban corridor, not a coverage gap. The festival publishes an official rideshare address: 499 W. Orange Show Rd, San Bernardino, CA 92408, with a dedicated rideshare pickup lounge; taxis and private drop-offs must instead use the Guest Drop-Off next to Big Lots (access via S. E Street behind Target). ONT to venue is ~20 mi down I-10. The honest NYE caveat: this is the single worst rideshare night of the year, expect heavy surge and long driver waits at the 2 AM close; the 3:00 AM Metrolink special train and official shuttles exist precisely as the surge-avoidance play

San Bernardino proper has modest Airbnb inventory; the practical search radius includes Redlands, Highland, Colton, Rialto and the Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga corridor, all within ~20-30 min of the venue. New Year's Eve is a peak-demand night everywhere, and the official partner-hotel portal already shows event-inflated rates ($447+ at Loma Linda properties), expect Airbnb pricing for Dec 31 to run well above baseline as a general market pattern (not a measured figure for this specific date, no fabricated stats)

The seasonal trade-off is real and worth flagging: this is late December at elevation, winter mountain roads at 2-3 AM on New Year's morning, possible snow/chain controls, and cold-weather tent camping. A valley-floor Hipcamp listing or a hotel is the saner pairing for this particular festival
