What happened to Day on the Green?
Bill Graham launched 'Day on the Green' at the Oakland Coliseum on August 5, 1973, and presented the series through the early 1990s, hosting acts including the Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, the Who, and the Rolling Stones. The series continued until shortly after Graham's death in a helicopter crash in October 1991; a handful of additional shows ran under the name in 1992 before it ended.
