The experience

What's special

FaeryCon is an indoor faery festival and fantasy-ball weekend produced by the Baltimore Faerie Faire at the historic (and, the organizers note, reportedly haunted) Lord Baltimore Hotel in downtown Baltimore. By day it runs stage performances, roaming characters - faeries, elves, ogres, goblins and at least one mermaid - an artists' market of handmade crafts, make-and-take workshops, panels and games, with children 12 and under admitted free. By night, guests dress for two live-music fantasy balls: the Friday the 13th BridgerTroll Ball with a 23-piece big band and the Coronation of the Faerie Queen or King, and the Saturday Faery Scary Ball. The 2026 edition is set for November 13-15.

What people love

Attendees of the Baltimore Faerie Faire's events speak warmly of the producer's faerie gatherings, describing a spring Faerie Festival as a 'very fun time, good vibes all around' - like a lightly costumed ren faire with lots of small craftspeople to browse - and a Faerie Ball as 'a blast,' with vendors, live performances and a live band. The events are widely described as done with a lot of love and effort, drawing repeat attendance across the group's balls and festivals.

Lineup

Costumes & what to wear

Do I need a costume?

Costumes are welcomed and celebrated (fae, steampunk, Regency and more), yet plainly dressed guests are explicitly reassured they belong, so first-timers won't feel out of place either way

Costume rules

Elaborate costumes are a centerpiece of FaeryCon (two fantasy balls with 'so many costumes'), but dressing up is a choice, not a requirement; guests are told they decide how to dress and may come fancy or plain

Joining in

Daytime guests roam among characters (faeries, elves, ogres, goblins and a mermaid), shop the artists' market, take make-and-take workshops, join fae-themed panels and play games; evenings feature the Coronation of the Faerie Queen or King and two live-band fantasy balls
