Pipe bands & Highland dance
The festival fields 27 pipe bands with 600 to 700 pipers and drummers at massed opening and closing ceremonies, alongside a Pipe Band Competition, solo piping and drumming, a Drum Major Competition and the EUSPBA Northeast Branch Amateur Drumming Championships
Clans & genealogy
More than 20 clans march in the Calling of the Clans at opening ceremonies, and a Clan Village with a genealogist helps visitors connect with their Scottish family history

Beyond the field, the day offers a Celtic Pub, whisky tasting, border collie sheep herding, Highland cattle, historic Highlanders reenactors, historical swordsmanship, harp circles, spinners and weavers, and main-stage music from Albannach, Seven Nations, Haggis X-1 and Pipe Dream
