The experience
What's special
MEGACON Orlando runs four days, Thursday through Sunday, at the Orange County Convention Center, and the organizer calls it 'the ultimate geek paradise' where comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming meet. A standard adult badge for the 2027 show, at the current Early Bird price, costs $23 for Thursday, $40 for Friday, $58 for Saturday, $49 for Sunday, or $129 for the full 4-Day pass; those prices rise to $34 through $159 once Early Bird ends on January 14, 2027. Children 5 and under attend free, and a combination Family Pass covers two adults and up to four children 6-12 for a single day at a discount. An Ultimate Fan Package ($169) and a VIP Package ($599, sold out at the time of research) sit above the standard range, adding early show-floor access, lounges, purchase guarantees on sold-out photo ops, and free or discounted admission to other FAN EXPO HQ shows through 2028. Autographs and photo ops with celebrity guests are priced per guest once the roster is announced, a further paid layer on top of any badge; at the time of research the 2027 celebrity, comic-creator, anime, gaming and cosplayer rosters had not yet been announced, so only the organizer's own 'past fan favorite' names from prior years are on record, clearly not a 2027 lineup. Cosplay runs across several formats rather than one judged contest: a Masters of Cosplay competition feeding into a national FAN EXPO HQ final, a non-competitive Cosplay Showcase for display pieces, a no-registration Cosplay Red Carpet, and a children's version of the Red Carpet, alongside a guest Meet Cosplayers program. Props and costumes are inspected at a dedicated Prop Check Desk, with no actual weapons and no metal or wooden prop weapons allowed, and costumes must provide full opaque coverage with no racist or derogatory imagery. The show suits both newcomers and longtime fans chasing a famous celebrity and comic-creator circuit, families using the free-under-6 and Family Pass pricing, and cosplayers with several different ways to be seen without necessarily entering a contest

Accessibility & comfort
What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.
A Medical Sticker (issued at the on-site Accessibility Services Desk, does not grant admission or priority access on its own) identifies attendees who may need assistance. A medical companion can receive a complimentary one-day pass matching the access level of the fan they are assisting (e.g. a companion of a VIP Pass holder gets VIP-area access too), and must stay with that fan.
