Milwaukee Tattoo Arts Festival's next dates haven't been announced yet. The last festival was 9 to 11 October 2026 in Milwaukee, WI. Froligo tracks ticket prices, attendee feedback and travel details.
Age, licensing and hygiene
You must be 18 or older, with a valid government-issued photo ID, to get tattooed. No exceptions; the organizer states this is a legal requirement that is strictly enforced. Kids under 12 may attend the festival for free
Booth holders are given access to consent and aftercare forms for use with clients as part of standard booth setup
What happens on the floor
The core format: artists take a booth for the weekend and work on the open floor, with the public walking through.
Pieces go on in the open, start to finish. You can watch, and talk to artists between clients.
Finished and same-day work is judged on stage in named categories, usually late in the day.
Machines, inks, aftercare, art and clothing. Aimed at artists, but open to anyone through the door.
Stage acts between judging: sideshow, suspension and burlesque are common. Worth knowing before you sit down with a child.
Getting tattooed here
Admission gets you through the door, not into a chair. Tattoo work is arranged with the artist, not with the show.
Booking is handled directly with each artist via the master directory, event page, or the artist's own social media; artists reply with availability, pricing, and deposit requirements
Many artists leave time for walk-up tattoos, especially smaller pieces, while others book fully in advance; a show minimum of $100 per tattoo is enforced
Who is tattooing
No artist roster has been published for this edition, so there is no way to pick an artist in advance from the official pages.
What it costs
Admission is the only price the show sets. Tattoo prices are set by each artist and are separate from admission; the organizer's general guide is roughly $100-300 for small tattoos, $300-800 for medium pieces, and $1,000+ for large or detailed work, with a show-wide minimum of $100 per tattoo.
If you are exhibiting
Booth and vendor fees are what the show charges artists and traders. They are not visitor prices.
Booths are 10x10 and cost $750, fitting 2 artists tattooing at once; includes 3 badges, 2 tables, 4 chairs, electricity, trash bin, sharps container, distilled water, and access to consent/aftercare forms
The market and the food
The organizer's booth-holder policy lists food and beverage service among services it does not accept from artist/vendor booth applicants, so on-site food is not run through the tattoo artist booths
Hours and the floor
Indoor
Laid out as Entertainment Stage and Artist Area.
