What's special
The Montana State Fair takes over Montana ExpoPark in Great Falls for nine days each summer, from livestock barns and grounds entertainment to The Mighty Thomas Carnival and concerts. Its centerpiece is the PRCA Big Sky Pro Rodeo, which the organizer counts among the largest PRCA rodeos in Montana: four nights of competition across eight major rodeo events, with themed nights such as Family Night, Patriot Night and Tough Enough to Wear Pink. The 2027 fair runs Friday, July 30 to Saturday, August 7, with the rodeo August 4 to 7.
How it works
Gate admission is $10 for adults, $7 for youth 6 to 17 and seniors, free for children 5 and under, and a $7 lunch special on weekdays from 11 AM to 2 PM. The rodeo needs its own ticket, $25 for adult general admission or $33 reserved. The fair opens at 5 PM on the first Friday, then runs from noon to midnight on weekends and noon to 11 PM on weekdays. Free parking is limited and reached through the Northwest Bypass entrance, and wheelchairs, strollers and wagons can be rented at the Information Booth inside the 3rd Street NW gate.
