What happened to Moonrise Festival?
The 2024 edition was called off; Baltimore City Councilman Isaac 'Yitzy' Schleifer said he was told it was 'too costly to put it on and the revenues didn't make it sustainable.' No direct statement from organizers or venue owner Stronach Group was available, and no edition has been announced since.

What's special
Moonrise Festival was a two-day electronic dance music festival held at Baltimore's historic Pimlico Race Course, which hosted the event from 2014. Programmed heavily around big-room EDM, trance, dubstep and house DJs across multiple stages, it was for years one of the mid-Atlantic's marquee summer dance gatherings. The festival has been dormant since its 2023 edition; the 2024 event was called off and no edition has been announced since

The most recent held edition took place in August 2023 at Pimlico Race Course, where local press reported the festival drew as many as 30,000 people over the weekend. It proved to be the final edition to date: the 2024 event did not take place, with a Baltimore city councilman relaying that organizers found it too costly to put on and that revenues were no longer sustainable, and the festival has stayed silent since
