What's special
The North Dakota State Fair fills the State Fairgrounds in Minot for nine days every July and is billed as the state's largest annual event, mixing agriculture, livestock, a carnival midway and a grandstand concert series. In 2026 the grandstand brought Alex Warren, Jon Pardi, Jessie Murph, Niko Moon, Zach Top, Zedd and T.I. with DaBaby and Waka Flocka Flame, alongside two nights of the MHA Indian Horse Relay and a two-night Ranch Rodeo. A single admission ticket covered at least 76 free attractions in 2026, including free stages with music, comedy and magic every day, K9 Kings, Daryl's Racing Pigs and a sea lion show. The 2027 fair runs July 23 to 31.
How it works
Gate admission is separate from the grandstand: in 2026 the Grandstand Showpass covered six nights for $140.25 online with fees, and single concerts ran $58.25 to $93.25, while some nights were sold only through the Showpass. Everything else on the grounds, from the free stages to the animal shows and exhibits, comes with admission. Before the gates open each year, local judges crown the best new menu items in Food Frenzy; the 2026 winners included Peach Cobbler in a Cone with Bourbon Caramel Sauce. The 2027 grandstand lineup and admission prices are not announced yet; the 2026 lineup came out in early spring.
