Oceans Calling Festival

On terrain, the festival Welcome Guides (for example the GA+ guide at support.oceanscallingfestival.com/hc/en-us/articles/17890245864852-GA-Welcome-Guide) state the festival grounds are a combination of paved surfaces, boardwalk, sand and gravel and advise choosing footwear accordingly, while the accessibility article adds that the site is large with great distances between activities, runs across city streets and pathways, includes travel over natural terrain, and may be muddy if it rains.

No separate ADA ticket is needed. Accessibility wristbands are free, valid all weekend, issued at the Access Center on arrival with no medical documentation required and self identification accepted. There are two Access Centers, the main one at the Guest Services tent inside the main entrance on the boardwalk between N.

Division Street and 1st Street just past the VIP entrance, and a secondary one at the Guest Services tent inside the S Division St entrance. They handle wristbands, accessible viewing information, ASL registration, assisted listening devices, large print and Braille materials when available, and powered mobility device charging on 110 volt 20 amp circuits.

Accessible parking is available at all municipal parking lots, first come first served, requiring a valid state issued placard or plate; note there are no parking options for the festival from N. Division Street south to the inlet.

There is a published ADA pickup and drop off point at 101 Worcester St with a specially designated accessible entrance lane at the Worcester St entrance directly across the street. Accessible viewing areas are first come first served, marked on the festival map, and do not guarantee space once capacity is reached; accessible seating inside VIP, Platinum, Reserved Seating, Premium Viewing Platforms or Cabanas requires both guest and companion to hold the matching premium ticket.

Accessible restrooms are throughout the grounds and additionally near designated accessible viewing platforms, where a wristband may be needed. Companion policy: one companion wristband per eligible guest for the ASL Viewing Pit and Accessible Viewing Platforms, exchangeable at the Access Center, but companions must hold their own valid ticket and the companion wristband gives no admission, so there is no free companion ticket.

The festival does not provide wheelchair or scooter rentals, personal care attendants, push assistance, golf cart transportation, personal escort services or charging cables. This is not a camping event. Public transport is well covered: the Ocean City Beach Bus is stated to be fully accessible with ADA compliant ramps or lifts and securement areas, and eligible riders can book the Ocean City ADA Para Transit van on 410-723-1606; note the West Ocean City Park and Ride shuttle and any hotel courtesy shuttles are separate services whose accessibility the festival does not state.

No quiet or sensory space is published, though the article does publish a Festival Environment warning listing loud amplified music, dense crowds, flashing and strobe lighting, pyrotechnics, smoke or haze, extended sun exposure and inclement weather, which is useful for sensory planning.

Guests using ASL visit the Access Center on arrival and complete a registration process conducted in American Sign Language to receive an ASL wristband, valid all weekend, giving access to designated ASL viewing areas during interpreted performances.

Those areas are first come first served, can reach capacity, allow one companion per wristbanded guest, and are closed when no interpreted performance is scheduled. Guests may bring their own interpreter, who must hold a valid paid ticket.

Separately, assisted listening devices are available on request at the Access Center on a first come first served basis with limited availability, and compatible personal devices may be used where applicable
