On Nov. 11, 2024, Pitchfork announced that after running for 19 years the festival would not return in 2025, per The Current (Minnesota Public Radio). Reporting tied the end to parent company Conde Nast's cost-cutting after merging Pitchfork's editorial operation into GQ earlier that year.
