Held every third weekend of May in downtown Poulsbo, the Puget Sound town nicknamed 'Little Norway', Viking Fest has celebrated the community's Scandinavian founders since 1969, timed to coincide with Syttende Mai, Norway's constitution-day celebration. Free to attend, its heart is a grand Saturday parade, a carnival and street fair along the Liberty Bay waterfront, live Scandinavian music and folk dancing, a Viking road race, timber sports, a Nordic Fashion Show, and quintessentially Norwegian eating contests for lutefisk and donuts.
