The Michigan Nordic Fire Festival is an outdoor mid-winter celebration of Viking, Norse, Nordic and Celtic culture held the last full weekend of February at the Eaton County Fairgrounds in Charlotte, Michigan. Created in 2016 by the non-profit Nordic Fire, Inc., it centers on a Friday-night Viking ship burning ceremony and adds battle and combat shows, a Ring of Steel fire performance, reenactor encampments, blacksmiths and Viking-life demonstrations, mead halls, an artisan market, food vendors, and all-day Kids Quest activities. Attendees dress warmly, many in Viking wools and furs, for a festival that has grown steadily since its founding
