The experience
What's special
This is Halloween night in Salem, indoors, dressed to a theme. The Official Salem Witches' Halloween Ball takes over the Hawthorne Hotel, the landmark hotel on Salem Common, from 7:30 p.m. on 31 October 2026, hosted by the Salem warlocks Christian Day and Brian Cain with the Witches of Salem and their guests the Dragon Ritual Drummers. The organizer bills it as the world's most magical Halloween party, and the published evening runs from dancing in the Grand Ballroom with dj addambombb and a laser light show, through a free psychic reading in Sophia's room, an authentic Salem seance in the organizer's words, a green screen photo booth, ceremonial dance by Hadiya and second floor rituals led by Witchdoctor Utu, to a magic circle cast in the grand ballroom at what the page calls evening's pinnacle. The 2026 costume theme is The Witches' Sabbat, with $1,000 cash for the best costume in theme. It is the headline night of the Festival of the Dead, the producers' month-long October series, and it is 21 and over
What it costs
Two layers, and the second is small. Layer one is the ticket: the only price the organizer prints is the $150 earlybird line with its December 15 deadline, now past, and the current single ticket is $211.99 including fees. The save $50 wording puts the regular face value $50 above the earlybird $150; the face figure itself is not printed. Layer two is the cash bar, the one paid item inside: hors d'oeuvres, the seance, the reading in Sophia's room, the photo booth, the performances, the rituals and the costume contest are all part of the night's admission, and the reading is expressly free in the organizer's words
